The RULER Approach, developed by researchers at Yale University, is an evidence-based social and emotional learning program dedicated to enriching the lives of educators, students, and families.
Our Mission
How are you feeling? It’s not an idle question. Are you interested? Bored? Stressed? Enthusiastic? The idea that feelings matter – and matter a great deal in school – is the foundation of the work we do at Ruler Group.
Ruler Group is dedicated to improving schools and enriching the lives of educators, students, and families through evidence-based social and emotional learning programs. Ruler Group’s primary program, The RULER Approach is an outgrowth of decades of research on emotional intelligence conducted by the Health, Emotion, and Behavior Laboratory at Yale University. This research has proven that emotional skills are integral to personal, social, and academic success. Since 2005, hundreds of schools in the United States and abroad have adopted Ruler Group’s evidence-based programs to successfully integrate social and emotional learning.
Who is behind the RULER Group?
Founded in 2005 by Dr. Marc Brackett, Deputy Director of the Health, Emotion, and Behavior Laboratory at Yale University, Ruler Group stands out not only because the programs are theoretically grounded and research-based, but because of its team of world-class educators, school administrators, and researchers.
