A neighbor of Yale University, Elm City College Preparatory Elementary is run by Achievement First, and is a public, high-performing, college-preparatory school located in New Haven, Connecticut.
The student demographics are 100% African American or Hispanic. This academy opened in New Haven in 2004 and was the first Achievement First school with an elementary program. In the 2008-09 academic year, Elm City College Preparatory Middle’s fifth graders were the first scholars in the network to have graduated from an Achievement First elementary school and moved up to an Achievement First middle school. Elm City is being trained in The Anchors of Emotional Literacy.
