Programs and Services
Each school has unique challenges, needs and goals. Our experienced team is prepared to help your school or district use student, teacher and administrator observations and assessment to identify your specific needs. Then we work with you to decide which of our social and emotional learning programs or services fit these needs and help you attain your goals most appropriately. More about becoming a RULER Certified School
All RULER programs are evidence-based and highly interactive.
Emotional Literacy for School Leaders is a training program that provides school leaders (superintendents, principals, and other administrators) with a unique blend of science and practice to become more effective leaders and implementers of The RULER Approach to social and emotional learning. In the training, leaders hone their RULER skills and also learn how to develop a long-term plan for sustaining emotional literacy in their school or district.
The educator and student programs provide educators (teachers of all grades, support staff, special service providers, coaches, and paraprofessionals) with the emotional skills they need to become more effective educators. The hands-on activities and tools help educators learn how to harness the wisdom of emotions to decrease stress, manage classrooms effectively, enhance learning, decision-making, relationships, and improve academic performance.
Emotional Literacy for Families is a highly interactive training program designed to provide adult family members with essential tools to promote healthy social and emotional development at home. Parents and caregivers learn RULER skills to: build trust and empathy with their children; apply effective strategies for addressing behavior issues and stress; and foster open communication and enjoyment at home. Additional topics related to homework, limit setting and discipline are offered as a part of the training; they are tailored to be age and developmentally appropriate.
Our Workshops provide an overview of emotional literacy. Integrating professional development training and coaching, instructional practices and tools, and student learning activities, RULER Workshops are a "mini" version of the complete training program. They can be held as half-day or full-day sessions.
Dr. Marc Brackett and his team are available to speak on a variety of topics including emotional literacy, social and emotional learning, and measuring emotional intelligence.
